Attention to Detail
Article by Elise Moana  – Recruitment Consultant
Lou Holtz, a former NFL coach and accomplished motivational speaker (look him up on google he is phenomenal), once said “In any successful organization, no detail is too small to escape close attention.“
And, well, he’s right!
In some industries overlooking minor details in favour of getting the job done quickly can cost the company tens of thousands of dollars if crucial errors are made.
This is one of the many reasons companies spend so much time and resources on staff training/toolboxes and so forth.
It’s vitally important that during any training process you are paying attention to what is asked of you and asking questions if anything isn’t clear. We’d much rather you ask questions than make errors due
to uncertainty.
Sometimes when things are busy and the pressure is on to get things done, it can be tempting to let standards slide here and there. But remember that jobs done incorrectly cost time, and in some cases result in fines from contractors towards the company too. This could result in you losing your position
which is the last thing anyone wants.
Stay vigilant, listen to your supervisor/trainer’s instructions, take mental notes and ask questions if it’s not clear.
If you have any questions or want some tips feel fee to give us a call at the office – we are always happy
to help!
